Osborn Genealogy

The family facial DNA genes seem to continue through the generations. A visitor said Ralph Waite looks like Phineas Osborn Sr 1870 who was a farmer and trustee of the Free-Will Baptist Society of Depauville NY. His father was Phineas O. 1760-1847 and was a blacksmith and farmer in Elm Flats NY.  Phineas' brother Schuyler S. 1800-1890 also was a blacksmith in Clayton NY. This is the family line for Dexter Schuyler 1826-1923 and John Dexter 1849-1935 to Bess Irene 1893-1932 to my father Ralph Waite Sr 1915-1980. Cousin Gerry Osborn is from Phineas Alden Jr side and cousin Richard (Dick) Osborn and father Charles Edward is from Ralph Sr & Jr side through Schuyler S.

Well  I have learned that body muscles can get weakness from our immune system failings. The Myopathy and specific Myositis can occur when the body fights an infection as a foreign incident. During this situation our muscle's atrophy and weakness occurs. A test of the electrical signals in the nerves and spinal MRI are used to rule out the body motor control failures. A 2 inch muscle biopsy must be made (in the thigh for me) and test  for a month in the Yconn specialist lab. Then I was put on three Prednisone once a day 20 mg steroid to stop immune system attacks. As an aside, I found my Psoriasis was clearing. This is a work in progress so we will see haw the muscles repair and strengthen.

Fran Keitz Waite in 2008 had neck surgery on her spinal column and a total right knee and left hp replacement.
This was similar family type arthritis as experienced by her Majer mother.

Mackway first did farming and store living in Fairhill Rd, Hilltown, Pa.
Eunie Mairs took Jane 10 and Betty 8 Mairs and Louise Mackway 15 to Atlantic City

Louise Jessup Newton Mackway was our parents' grandmother.  She was our Grandfather Mackway's mother.
I suspect that Edward Mackway, born in New York state, met Louise Jessup Newton of Alabama when he was a Shakespearean actor.  Actors are gypsies, and must travel extensively to practice their craft.  Perhaps the Civil War was a factor in him becoming a butcher.  Perhaps Mr. Newton, Louise's father, wanted his daughter to have a more settled life, and asked him to leave the stage.

Leon Waite III Letter to press on with the Waite search

Our thoughts are with Leon Waite during the storm season this year.

Our lost cousin John Wilkinson is back with email. John Wilkinson

He spent some time with Kathy Greiser on her last visit. He took pictures of the Mackway houses, which he promised to send us.
He said the Wilkinson family went back to before William Penn in Philadelphia. We will see as he confirms his works.

Jason will be in charge of the tree changes. Mira and Maria have common family.

blooming for Spring in Mystic Village and Seaport ! 04/14/08

The Mystic Seaport with it's history of making tall ships is a unique walk back in time. The Bascule Bridge is unique to Mystic with very interesting heritage. .

Mystic Bridge MysticBridgeWMV
Animation for fun you can raise and lower the bridge with "buttons" using WMV movies or goto "Slides Show" via Mystic Bridge

Before the modern bridges the Connecticut and Mystic rivers created major crossing problems. There were places like Essex that had and still do use ferry crossings. Mainly, it required people go up to Norwich to cross over to the others side. In early times the town of Norwich was a major city of commerce and the large homes reflect this economic prosperity. Today New London is the center of commerce with Amtrak and Island Ferry traffic going through it.
By the way, the village of Essex with the Ferry is one of the best places to see Eagles and the Bald American Eagle in CT.
They nest there in February-March every year and go up and down the Ct River finding fish for family food.
There are boat trips to take you to experience and photograph them.

A Cedar Wax Wing is at top of this page.
My father Ralph Sr. was an avid bird watcher.
He trained me without knowing it how to recognize the various types.
We both were photographers - so it is natural the use cameras for birding.
It wasn't until I was older that I found the patience to do this relaxing with wild nature.
Thanks Dad and I love you for your teaching me to relax with nature.

Czechoslovakia eBook

Watch the internet
We are searching for members of the families of Majer and Pacas.
These are relatives from Bohemia and specifically the Velké Hostěrádky area.
The time was 1912 to 1935 when the eBook pictures were taken by the family there.
The US Baptist Church - using Czech Missionaries - recruited people to immigrate during that time and area.
Foster families were provided by the church, we believe, with young servants in the form of indenture.

I don't have any news about the Majer Family, on the ship 1912 Rhein passengers list I noticed two names, I assumed of sisters (Krhanek) from Hosteradky. Their family lived next door to my grandmother and I believe that the older one, listed as "non-immigrant alien" came back from US to pick up her younger sister and Frances. My uncle, who is now 88 years old told me, that he remembers Frances visit in Hosteradky and that she was riding a horse. She was an accomplished lady to start with 8th grade in US and end up as a physician in those days! I will be back in California in a couple of weeks but plan to come back to Prague in the Fall. My father, 93, is getting very fragile and needs help. Take care, Marta Kozera
