Frantiska Majer came to the US in September 1912. We are looking for her Majer Czech family members today. We hope they will email and help write this eBook on Czechoslovakia as it was in 1912 and is today. Her father was Frank Sr and mother was Frances Pacas Majer (m1878). |

Take a bright young girl from a Czechoslovakia farm family. Then offer her a paid for missionary trip to Coraopolis Pa USA. Then use the church to find her a McKee's Rocks (outside of Pittsburgh) foster family for support. Then send her to attend the University of Pittsburgh Medical College and finally become a Doctor. This actually happened to 15 year old Frances Majer from 1912 to 1935. She returned home and here are her pictures. Cousin relatives of direct interest: Joseph and Anna Pacas, Jacob Majer, Maximillian Majer, Frank Majer Jr, Joseph Majer, Verona Majer. |

introduction This is the story of how Fran Keitz Waite's mother age 15 yrs born August 19, 1897 came to the USA in Sept 5, 1912 (ships log shows her to be 17 which is not her true age). Later she married Theodore L. Keitz Jr. and began a family with two children Frances and Theodore III . We still have questions, what was the basis for her decision to begin her immigration to the US? Was their a local church in touch with the Penna. Church group. There were older travelers on the boat - missionaries and identified as such in the ship log. We need more information on this immigration. Was she indentured to the foster family to repay her costs? Did the foster family have to pay the Coraopolis Baptist Church before she came? The Baptist Missionaries on page 393 in the Baptist Book selection Adobe pdf is about the 1899 Bohemia activities.
Frank Sr and Frances Pacas Majer, what did they know about her future - before Frances went to the USA. |
